Martin Byrne and Lhakpa Sherpa on top of Mt. Everest
As per communication with Asian Trekking's International Everest Exp.2011 manager Madhav Basnet, Expedition team members Ivan Olivier Schmid of Switzerland, Leonardo Fernandez of Mexico and Helmut Ortner of Austria and Pemba Nuru Sherpa reached the Summit of Mt. Everest from North Side this morning (Sat, 21 May). Earlier Helmut Ortner summited Mt.Shishapangma(8027m) on 6 May 2011. He climbed two 8000er peaks in this Spring climbing season.

Asian Trekking's International Everest Expedition 2011 members and Sherpas are aiming to be on top of North Side of Mt.Everest(8848 m) tomorrow morning, 21 May.. The members, Martin Byrne of Irland, Ivan Olivier Schmid of Swiss, Zoltan Benedek of Austria, Jan Niklas Hallstrorm of Sweden, Helmut Ortner of Austria and Sherpas, Lhakpa (Guide), Lhakpa( Instructor), Ngima Sherpa, Pemba Nuru Sherpa, are at Camp 3 (8,300 m). To night, they leave C 4 and plan to reach Summit of Mt.Everest from North Side tomorrow morning, 21 May. Please stay tuned with us ....
As per radio communication from North Side of Everest, Asian Trekking's International Everest Expedition 2011 members and Sherpas are aiming to be on the top of Mt.Everest(8848 m) on Sat, 21 May.
As per the radio communication, expedition team members moved to Advance Base Camp at an altitude of 6400m on 22nd April.
Asian Trekking's International Everest Expedition Spring 2011 left from Kathmandu to Chinese Border on Tuesday the 12thApril heading towards the North Side of Mt. Everest. The 10 Member Expedition Team is led by Josef Uitz of Austria.
