Ken is a veteran mountaineer with a fantastic track record in the past of having cleaned Mt. Everest, Mt. Manaslu, Mt Fuji and running many environmental campaigns in his home country. This year, Ken has joined forces with the Eco Everest Expedition and plans to clean in the extreme altitude at and above C4 (7950m). Ken and his team member and Sherpas are climbing up to C2 today, the 2nd May for 5 days to clean up at C2.

Sherpas of Asian Trekking's Eco Everest Expedition 2011 Cleaning Initiative by Ken Noguchi and Dawa Steven Sherpa Team established Camp II at an altitude of 6500m. The 11 Member ( 1 Japanese, 3 Mexican, 1 USA and 6 Indian) Expedition Team is led by Ken Noguchi, Everest Summiteer from both North and South Side of Everest and Environmentalist from Japan.

It is with a great pleasure that I can announce that my old friend Ken Noguchi (Two time Everest Summiteerand Environment Activist) from Japan, is back again to climb and clean Mt. Everest, together with my son Dawa Steven. In the past, Ken has run many successful cleaning expeditions, including four times on Mt. Everest. Dawa Steven took much inspiration from Ken, and is delighted to be able to work with his childhood hero.

Ken arrived Kathmandu yesterday after providing support to the earth quike and Tsunami victims in Japan. He had distributed more than 2000 sleeping bags to the affected people.

Ken and Sirdar Dawa Tashi Sherpa flew this morning (12th April) to Lukla heading towards Everest Base Camp. Asian Trekking family extends best wishes and best of luck.
