Well, here we almost are, the final moments that we have been building up to for the last six weeks.
I just got off the radio speaking to Apa who is at the south col. Over the cackling radio, he told me that everyone with him are doing fine at the South Col. With him are Nic, Yury and Krushnaa, together with our Sherpas: Phurba, Thukten Dorje, Nima Kanchha, Pasang Temba and Gyalu.
Feeling unwell at camp 2, Bud opted to wait for day and attempt to summit on the 22nd. Unfortunately, Henry was forced to cancel his expedition when he fell and hurt his head in camp 2. He received a serious concussion but thankfully is currently out of danger and doing very well. Group 2 will aim to summit on the morning of the 23rd.
Group 1 all arrived into Camp before 1:30 pm, which is a very decent time and reflects their strength. They have had food and water and are currently having their last few hours of sleep before starting the final climb to the summit. Krushnaa, Gyalu and Pasang Temba will leave the south col at 8pm to give Krushnaa a head start. The rest of the team will leave at 9 pm and will aim to stand on the summit before 8am, just as the first rays of the sun hit them from the horizon far below them.
